Boney Kapoor Reveals Heartbreaking Details About Sridevi's Struggles

The sudden demise of legendary actress Sridevi on February 24, 2018, shocked not just the entertainment industry, but the entire nation.

Celebrities like Janhvi Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor have previously shared their experiences dealing with the immense loss.

Now, Boney Kapoor, her husband, has spoken about her rigorous dieting habits, which often led to alarming consequences.

In an interview with The New Indian, Boney Kapoor candidly revealed, “It was not a natural death; it was an accidental death. I had decided not to speak about it because I spoke about it for almost 24 or 48 hours straight when I was being investigated and interrogated. In fact, the officers said we had to go through this due to immense pressure from the Indian media. They discovered there was no foul play. I underwent all the tests, including lie detector tests and others. The final report clearly stated it was accidental.” Readmore!

He went on to share, “She often used to starve herself; she wanted to look good. She aimed to ensure she was in good shape so that she looked good on-screen. Since the time she was married to me, she experienced blackouts on several occasions, and the doctor repeatedly mentioned her low blood pressure issue.”

Boney Kapoor recounted an incident from a film set, as narrated by Sridevi’s co-star Nagarjuna. “It was unfortunate. Later, after her passing, Nagarjuna came home to offer his condolences, and he told me that during one of her movies, she was once again on a crash diet, which led to her falling in the bathroom and breaking her teeth.”

For those unaware, the celebrated actress lost her life in Dubai, and her cause of death was cited as accidental drowning.

Her final film was "Mom," where she portrayed the role of Devki Sabarwal. For her exceptional performance in the film, she was posthumously honored with the National Film Award for Best Actress.

The crime thriller, directed by Ravi Udyawar, hit the theaters in 2017 and also starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Akshaye Khanna, and other talented actors.
