BJP MP Dares TRS On Central Assistance

Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday challenged the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government to prove that it had not received any assistance from the Centre in the last six years.

Reacting strongly to state finance minister T Harish Rao’s comments that the state had not received any single rupee from the Centre towards special assistance, BJP Lok Sabha member from Nizamabad Dharmapuri Aravind said Harish should prove his charge or quit the post.

“Let Harish come for a debate on central assistance to the state. If he cannot prove his statemen that there was no central assistance to the state, not just Harish, but the entire TRS government should step down and seek fresh elections,” Aravind said.

Arvind reiterated his stand saying that the union government has so far released Rs 14,917 crore for distribution of rice through fair price shops during the past four years.  Readmore!

Coming heavily on the TRS government, the BJP MP said the infrastructure of Hyderabad city could only be improved had the government taken steps without caring for political outcome.

He recalled Narendra Modi as Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2005 had ordered demolition of two lakh illegal structures in 143 towns.

Accusing the TRS of playing a second fiddle to MIM, he said the government could not even shift a pan shop in the old city without fearing Majlis. He accused the government of being inept in handling the flood situation.
