Icon star Allu Arjun was arrested in connection with a tragic stampede at Sandhya Theatre, which resulted in the death of a woman.
He was later released on bail. BJP MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju has now commented on the controversy surrounding Allu Arjun's arrest.
Raju expressed support for statements made by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in the Assembly regarding the Allu Arjun case.
"If what Revanth Reddy said in the Assembly about Allu Arjun is true, then I agree with him. This is my personal opinion," Raju clarified.
He emphasized that the law is equal for everyone, irrespective of their celebrity status.
"The law will take its course," he stated firmly.
Raju also voiced concerns about the overwhelming support Allu Arjun received post-arrest, contrasting it with the lack of attention given to the family of the deceased woman.
Advocating for stricter regulations on benefit shows, Raju proposed mandatory police approval for such events.
"My opinion is that benefit shows should be stopped altogether," he stated, arguing that these events often lead to unsafe crowd gatherings, increasing the risk of stampedes.
Raju further suggested that the incident could have been avoided if Allu Arjun had not attended the event.
He stressed the importance of celebrities seeking police approval before participating in public events.
Additionally, he criticized Allu Arjun for not responsibly leaving the scene after the tragedy, emphasizing the need for accountability in such situations.
