BJP gearing up for yet another yatra in AP

Bharatiya Janata Party, which has been an insignificant force in Andhra Pradesh politics, is making every effort to prove its existence as an alternative political force in the state.

On Monday, the BJP held a meeting of secretaries and district party presidents in Hyderabad and decided to take up yet another yatra, this time to bring pressure on the Jagan Mohan Reddy government in the state on completion of pending irrigation projects in Rayalaseema.

Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member G V L Narasimha Rao said there was a good response from the people for the party’s recent “Jalam Kosam Jana Yatra” and hence, it has decided to take up the rally for Rayalaseema pending projects.

“An action plan on this would be finalised soon,” he said. Readmore!

The party is also planning a series of programmes to strengthen the base across the state. As part of that, as many as 5,000 public meetings would be held in all the 175 assembly constituencies between September 17 to October 5.

“In these meetings, the BJP leaders would explain the pro-poor schemes launched by the Narendra Modi government and the anti-people policies of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government,” GVL said.

He said the BJP would gain strength on its own by taking up various programmes in every assembly constituency against the Jagan government.

“We shall grow as an independent force. We just ignore the reports on alliances,” he said.
