Is Bharatiya Janata Party planning to alienate Jana Sena Party chief and power star Pawan Kalyan from Telugu Desam Party headed by former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu?
According to speculations doing rounds in a section of media, there is every possibility that Pawan might break the alliance with the TDP even before it is formed, if the plan of the BJP national leadership works out.
Sources said the BJP national leadership called Pawan Kalyan to New Delhi for talks in the next couple of days for negotiations. Before that, he might also meet Union home minister Amit Shah who will be in Hyderabad on Sunday.
While Pawan wants final clarity from the BJP on the alliances, the party national leadership wants him to break the alliance with the TDP and contest the elections independently in alliance with the BJP.
Sources said according to the BJP’s assessment, the number of seats Jana Sena Party can win in the coming elections would be the same irrespective of whether it has an alliance with the TDP or not. In fact, the number might be more, if it contests independently.
If there is so much anti-incumbency against YSRCP, the people will defeat it even if there is no alliance between the TDP and Jana Sena. In such a scenario, the TDP will come to power and in any case, Naidu will support the Modi government.
Even if Jagan comes back to power in AP, it hardly makes any difference for Pawan because in any case, he has no chance of becoming the chief minister this time. So, whether it is Jagan or Naidu, the situation will be the same for the Jana Sena.
If the TDP comes to power, Jana Sena will never get a chance to grow as a force and Pawan Kalyan can never fulfil his dream of becoming the chief minister. But if Jagan comes to power again, it will be the end of the road for the TDP.
In the next five years, it is for sure that the Jagan government will be chaotic and it is going to collapse in 2029 by which time, the Jana Sena will have the chance to replace the TDP as an alternative force.
“The BJP national leadership is likely to brainwash Pawan Kalyan on these lines. It remains to be seen whether the power star is convinced by this argument or go with the TDP with the sole intention of defeating Jagan,” sources said.
