Bharatiya Janata Party national leadership, which has been adopting a wait and watch approach towards power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan on the prospective alliance, is said to be angry with him for encouraging defections from the saffron party into his party.
In the last couple of days, a large number of BJP workers and leaders in different districts have called it quits from the party. They are all said to be defecting to the Jana Sena Party sooner or later.
Similarly, the BJP leadership is also upset with the way Jana Sena Party leaders holding talks with its senior leader and former state BJP president Kanna Lakshminaryana, in a bid to lure him into their party.
Interestingly, Pawan Kalyan said the other day at Jagitial that he is still in alliance with the BJP and the future alliances with new parties would depend on the situation at the time elections.
“Whether somebody will join hands with us or not, but I shall not allow the anti-establishment vote to split. If nobody comes with me, I am ready to fight the next elections independently,” he said.
This has angered the BJP leadership. State BJP leader and MP G V L Narasimha Rao said it was not proper to damage the BJP by engineering defections into Jana Sena, while claiming that the latter was still in alliance with the BJP.
“We are not going to take it easy but will react strongly to the same,” he said
So far, there has been no reaction from Pawan Kalyan. He is said to be confident that the BJP would have no option but to join hands with Jana Sena-TDP combine, as the part has no strong leadership or cadre base in AP.
He wants to wait till the next elections, sources said.
