BJP admits it can't come to power in Telangana!

Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in Telangana have been claiming for the last few months that their party has been emerging as a strong contender for power and hence, would pull down the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government in the next assembly elections to be held next year.

The party leaders say the party has been gaining overwhelming popularity indicating that it is the only alternative to Ruling TRS party in Telangana. It is emerging as a powerful force under the leadership of Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

Quoting the Mood of the Nation survey conducted by the C-Voter and India Today, the BJP said it was recovering day by day in Telangana, while the Congress party is completely getting weakened.  And there are negative signs for the ruling TRS party.

Surprisingly, the BJP leaders, in the same breath, have indirectly admitted that their party cannot come to power in the state, if the elections are held now, even it is gaining strength. Readmore!

A statement from the Telangana BJP said it would win six MP seats out of 17 in the state, if Lok Sabha elections are held now.

In the last Lok Sabha elections held in 2019, the BJP won four parliamentary seats in Telangana, but in the assembly elections held six months before, it could hardly win one assembly seat and had lost deposits in as many as 103 seats.

The C Voter-India Today survey says the Congress, which had won three seats in the last election, will confine to only two MP seats, if the elections are held now.

The BJP, quoting the survey, said the TRS which had won nine MP seats, would lose one MP seat and win only eight MP seats. The MIM would retain its lone MP seat from Hyderabad.

Going by the Telangana BJP statement, even if the TRS wins eight Lok Sabha seats, it would still be able to form the government in the state next elections, too.

On an average, there are seven assembly segments in each parliamentary constituency and thus, TRS would be able to get 56 seats and with the help of the MIM, it can come to power in the state again.

On the other hand, the BJP, if it gets six Lok Sabha seats, won’t be able to cross 42 assembly seats. Since the Congress cannot join hands with the BJP, it will be the TRS which will come to power again!

Well, these are all might be hypothetical calculations, but if the survey is any indication, the BJP will have to travel a long way to grab power in Telangana!
