Bhumana, first VIP, to test Corona positive twice

YSRC party legislator from Tirupati Bhumana Karunakar Reddy on Thursday turned out to be the first high profile person to contract the Coronavirus disease twice in less than two months.

Along with Bhumana, his son Abhinay Reddy, also tested positive for Covid-19 for a second time in a span of one month. 

While Abhinay is undergoing treatment at SVRR government hospital in Tirupati, Bhumana has been shifted to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai for better treatment, as he has high fever and body pains.

Bhumana, who is also former chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), developed symptoms of Coronavirus again on Wednesday morning. Readmore!

He underwent the test at a private laboratory in Tirupati along with his son and both of them tested positive in the evening.

Without taking risk, they got admitted to SVRR Hospital and tested again on Thursday morning. By afternoon, they turned out to be positive for a second time, sources close to Bhumana said.

On August 25, the MLA first tested positive for the virus and underwent treatment at SVRR Hospital, Tirupati. He recovered within one week and tested positive on September 3.

Subsequently, Bhumana actively participated in various government programmes, including Tirumala Brahmotsavams.

He attended the rituals along with chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on September 24. But now, he got the virus again.

Meanwhile, YSRC MP from Eluru parliamentary constituency Kotagiri Sridhar also tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday. The MP went into home quarantine at his Hyderabad residence.
