After being in jail for nearly 17 days, former Andhra Pradesh tourism minister and Telugu Desam Party leader Bhuma Akhila Priya got the bail in the sensational kidnap of three persons, supposedly related to Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, in the Hafeezpet land dispute in Hyderabad.
A sessions court in Nampally criminal courts complex granted conditional bail to Akhila Priya. She was asked to pay surety of Rs 10,000 in cash, besides personal bonds of two persons.
She has been asked to not to leave the headquarters without permission. In all probability, Akhila Priya might be released from Chanchalguda jail on Saturday.
The court, however, did not grant anticipatory bail to Akhila’s husband Bhargav Ram, who has been absconding ever since the incident took place on January 5. He is accused no. 3 in the case.
However, there are reports that the police had already arrested Bhargav Ram and were interrogating him.
