Senior actor, TDP legislator from Hindupur Nandamuri Balakrishna is planning to meet YSR Congress party president and CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy shortly, if gets appointment.
Balakrishna, who came to his constituency after a gap of more than five months due to Covid-19 pandemic, told the party workers that he would strive for making Hindupur as the new district, as part of the state government’s plan to reorganise districts of the state from 13 to 25.
“I will go to any extent go get Hindupur declared as the district. If necessary, I will have a personal meeting with the chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy and make a personal request, if I get an appointment,” Balakrishna said, adding that he had already written a letter to Jagan in this regard.
In fact, Jagan has already declared that each parliamentary constituency would be made into a district. Going by this formula, Hindupur which is also a parliamentary constituency, will automatically become a district; and Balakrishna doesn’t have to struggle much.
In July, Balakrishna wrote a separate letter to the chief minister, thanking him for granting a medical college in Hindupur parliamentary constituency, particularly in Hindupur assembly segment.
“The medical college will not only benefit the students of Hindupur but also those of entire Rayalaseema. It is a great opportunity for the students who want to pursue medicine course and also provide better medical care to the people of the constituency,” he said.
