Telugu actor and politician Nandamuri Balakrishna has faced criticism for pushing actress Anjali on stage during a promotional event for the film 'Gangs of Godavari.'
The incident, captured on video, shows Balakrishna pushing Anjali when she seemingly didn't hear him. While Anjali laughed it off, the video sparked outrage on social media, with many calling for Balakrishna to be condemned for assault.
Critics, including filmmaker Hansal Mehta and actor Nakuul Mehta, have condemned Balakrishna's behavior. The film's team clarified that the push was casual and part of the event's proceedings, but the controversy continues to draw attention and criticism.
A writer-director said, "What Balakrishna did is nothing in this pre-release event. It's in fact a friendly event where both the actress and Balakrishna were seen doing a high-five after the pushing act. But this has become a national sensation for unknwon reason"
There are multiple opinions in Telugu film circuit about Balakrishna but majority people are either making no comments or defending Balakrishna taking this as a friendly act. But a set of people are making an issue not with pushing act, but for drinking in public sitting in front of the dais.
