Telugu Desam Party's 40th formation day is celebrated across, amidst its sympathizers and supporters. We would be getting the celebration reports even from America and Australia by evening with some enthusiastic groups being part of it.
The party had also lined up the events across Andhra Pradesh for the day and perhaps even for the next 12 months.
But, sadly the celebrations started with its chief Chandrababu Naidu openly telling the biggest ever lie on record in the presence of several educated and experienced politicians.
Naidu is known for hurling lies without having second thoughts. From mobile technology to self-help groups for women, the list is too long.
But the latest lie is the master of all. He said he had advised NTR to launch the political party.
When NTR was in dilemma whether to start an NGO or a political party to serve the people, Naidu said he had advised NTR to start the political party and the result is the TDP.
This is what Chandrababu Naidu said at the meeting of a book release of TDP leader Kambhampati Rammohan Rao in Hyderabad the other day.
In this generation, the people who were born after 1995, might believe this lie, but those who were born before are surprised and shocked at the ease with which Naidu can lie.
Well, when NTR launched the TDP on March 29, 1982, Naidu was a minister in the Congress government.
In fact, Naidu had heckled the TDP formation by NTR and had even dared to contest against him.
He joined only after the TDP’s victory in the 1983 elections and the crushing defeat of the Congress. Even Naidu had lost the election at Chandragiri Assembly constituency in Chittoor district.
One wonders, how can Chandrababu Naidu go on record speaking such blatant lies, even when people with some knowledge are still living around!
