YSR Congress party MP from Kadapa Y S Avinash Reddy is not interested in quitting his Lok Sabha seat for party president and former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the event of the latter deciding to resign from Pulivendula assembly seat and go to Parliament.
This is the information Telugu Desam Party leader and party in-charge of Pulivendula B Tech Ravi has received during his visit to Kadapa district in the recent past.
“There is a discussion going on in Kadapa in general and Pulivendula in particular about the possibility of Jagan quitting the assembly seat and going to Lok Sabha,” he said, taking part in a debate conducted by a Telugu television channel on Wednesday.
However, Ravi said, according to his information, Avinash Reddy is not keen on resigning from his MP seat for the sake of Jagan.
He has reportedly told his followers that if he resigned from his MP seat and paved way for Jagan, he won’t be given the assembly ticket from Pulivendula in the by-elections.
“There is a discussion within Jagan’s family that in the by-elections to Pulivendula in the event of Jagan resigning from his seat, he would field his wife Y S Bharati Reddy but not Avinash Reddy,” the TDP leader said.
He is worried that nobody would care for him if he resigns from the MP seat and doesn’t become even an MLA.
“At least as an MP, I have certain privileges and am able to avoid being arrested by the CBI in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case. If I don’t have any position, I will be in soup,” he reportedly told his supporters.
Avinash is 100 percent sure that he will not get the assembly ticket for Pulivendula, as Jagan prefers his wife to be in the seat.
“So, there is no point in resigning from the Lok Sabha seat,” he reportedly said.
