Attack on Jagan: Secret probe to nail Naidu?

The order of the National Investigation Agency court in Vijayawada asking for a secret investigation into the case of attack on the life of YSR Congress Party chief and leader of the opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at Visakhapatnam airport will definitely pose a big trouble for Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The YSR Congress party leaders have been alleging that it was Naidu who had masterminded the attack on the life of Jagan on October 25 and that there was a threat from him to the life of Janipalli Srinivasa Rao, the prime accused in the case.

The NIA, which has taken up the probe following directions from the Union home ministry, recently filed the preliminary charge sheet in the court.

The NIA court ordered that from now on the investigation of the case should be carried out in secretly, taking into consideration the security issues for Srinivas and others who were involved in the case. Readmore!

The court has also made it clear that either print or electronic media should not publish any news related to the investigation.

If the NIA takes up investigation secretly, there is a possibility of the authorities getting the information about the real persons behind the prime accused. If there is really any hand of the TDP leaders, it would come out.

Even if there is no role of the TDP leaders including Naidu, too, there is a possibility of the NIA fabricating the evidences to prove the involvement of the TDP leaders, as per the directions of the centre.

That is precisely why the TDP leaders and even Naidu are raising a hue and cry over the NIA probe into the case.

Naidu argued that NIA is a prestigious investigation agency, which deals with the terrorist attack in the country and it cannot take up a small case like the attack on Jagan.

He is worried that the NIA would anyway target the TDP, irrespective of whether or not it has really masterminded the attack.
