ATA conducted its flagship event Dussehra & Bathukamma event at Pachavati, Balaji Temple in Chicago on October 5th with much pomp and grandeur. 500 people from all walks of life throughly enjoyed the event and festivities.
Organizers were ecstatic with the turn out and congratulated the community members for their love and unwavering support to ATA.
Event kick started with saree clad Indian women welcoming Bathukammas, a beautiful flower stack made of different seasonal unique flowers, and offering prayers to Goddess Gauri.
Bathukamma is a very popular Indian festival in both the Telugu states celebrated during the festive season of Dussehra.
Saree clad Indian women form a circle around the Bathukamma and start singing folk songs by clapping their hands and revolving around the Bathukamma, synchronizing their steps and claps in unison to provide a splendorous look to the festivities. Women seek good health, prosperity and happiness for their families.
Best Bathukamma winners were awarded Sarees. Organizers lauded the efforts of volunteers, local organizations for their support and sponsors.
