AP Surpasses Housing Target In Four Days

The Andhra Pradesh government had surpassed its target of grounding the houses in the Jagananna Colonies in the state in four days.

The government had launched the grounding of houses all over the state from July 1 to 4 and had asked the officials to launch as many houses as possible.

Interestingly, the officials have grounded 5,97,140 houses in the last four days against the target of 2,85,715 set by the government. 

The state government had set the target of 15 lakh houses in the first phase to come up in the 17,001 Jagananna Colonies in the state, where house sites were already distributed to the benefits.  Readmore!

This is the first ever initiative of the state government in the country to give house sites to 30 lakh people and starting 17,001 colonies, after the Independence. 

Hitherto, the successive governments have been giving house sites and houses in a small way but it was for the first time, the government under the leadership of chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is building 17,001 colonies giving house-sites to every eligible family. 

The government also proposed to construct 30 lakh houses in all these 17,001 colonies by 2023, ahead of the 2024 general elections. 

It is said that if the government completes this target, victory in 2024 elections would be a cakewalk for Jagan Mohan Reddy.
