AP Police Can Track Your Travel, If Requested

The police in Andhra Pradesh can track your travel through a mobile application to ensure safety.

They will track only if a person sends a request through the mobile application.

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy joined the campaign on this mobile application developed by the police, keeping in view the safety of women and girls in the state.

The mobile application is called Disha App, which can be downloaded through the Google Play Store.   Readmore!

Those who have this App, can also send alerts to the police by shaking their mobile, whenever they are in trouble.

Alerts flash at the police control room following which the cops can track the location from where the alert had come.

Accordingly, the police teams arrive at the location and save the woman or girls or even men, whenever they are in trouble.

All that they have to do is to shake the mobile three times consecutively, while keeping the Disha App open.

The police would also get alerts when the person simply touches the SOS button in the Disha App.

The AP police say that over 17 lakh people have downloaded the Disha App in their mobiles so far.

The App had received four national awards for its features in saving people in distress and is set to reach out to more than 1 crore people across the state in the next two to three months.
