AP: Least Number Of Tickets For Reddys In YCP?

Sources indicate that in a groundbreaking decision, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has chosen to allocate 85-90 seats for BCs, 29 for SCs, and 7 for STs, totaling 120-125 seats for MLA tickets in the upcoming general elections of Andhra Pradesh.

Out of the total 175 seats, if 120-125 are designated for these sections, the remaining 50-55 seats would be distributed among Reddys, Kammas, Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vysyas, and Kapus.

This marks the first time in the political history of Andhra Pradesh that the least number of seats will be allocated for Reddys who have been a prominent force in state politics since Independence.

While it is acknowledged that BC communities are advocating for a 50% increase in general reservations, Jagan Mohan Reddy is extending it to over 70% as a part of his political move. Readmore!

It remains to be seen what advantages and disadvantages the party will experience as a result of this decision.
