It looks like days are numbered for former finance minister and YSR Congress party MLA Anam Ramnarayana Reddy in the party.
YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday took serious note of Anam’s comments made at a press conference on Friday.
According to party sources, Jagan observed that Anam’s comments were in violation of the party discipline.
Stating that he would not tolerate any defiance of the party line by any leader, Jagan is learnt to have asked party general secretary and MP V Vijay Sai Reddy to serve a show cause notice on Anam asking him why he should not be suspended from the party for violating the party discipline. He would be asked to give an explanation to the party for his comments.
Sai Reddy earlier warned the party leaders of severe action if they defied the loyalty and discipline to party. He said that the party would not tolerate anyone crossing the line.
“If there are any problems for any leader, he should bring them to the notice of the party and Jagan, but they should not cross the line,” he warned.
Anam, who expected to get cabinet berth in June this year, has been sulking since then. He is apparently upset for being ignored in the party and the government, while juniors like P Anil Kumar Yadav and Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy were given a free hand.
At a press conference in Nellore, Anam commented that Nellore had become an “adda” for all sort of mafia – whether it is sand mafia, liquor mafia, betting mafia and land mafia.
“There has been a blatant grabbing of land and illicit liquor trade in Nellore and the people are not able to express their views openly. Unfortunately, even the police officials are not able to do anything and if at all there are any sincere officers, they will be shunted out,” he alleged.
