As the State government had decided to hold the cabinet meeting on December 27 in Amaravati and a section of farmers are holding protest, backed by the opposition TDP, the police have intensified security arrangements in the capital villages.
The villages are under strict vigil of the police to prevent protests or any untoward incidents when Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy and his cabinet colleagues travel to Velagapudi on the day for the cabinet meeting.
The police have issued notices to the residents of Venkatapalem, Mandadam and Velagapudi villages not to have outsiders in their houses on the day. They were also asked to inform the police if they have guests on the day.
The police have also issued prohibitory orders for two days from today preventing any sort of protests in the capital villages as some of the protesters are supported and instigated by the opposition TDP.
The police, particularly the intelligence forces, suspect the TDP deploying its cadre to these villages in support of the farmers and lead the farmers to make wild protest leading to violence, when the chief minister and his ministers travel on the road to Velagapudi for the cabinet meeting.
The police have opened check-posts in all the villages and the roads leading to Velagapudi secretariat and they would be in force for the next two days.
