Amanchi to fight Chirala polls on Cong ticket!

As expected, former MLA Amanchi Krishna Mohan announced that he would be joining the Congress party soon and contest the upcoming elections from Chirala on the Congress ticket.

Krishna Mohan, who resigned from the YSR Congress party a couple of days ago, said he had no personal differences with either Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu or YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and had come out both the parties due to personal reasons.

“I have all respects for Naidu, but I could not adjust to the ideology of the TDP; so I came out of the TDP in 2019. In YSRCP, too, Jagan gave me all the respect and I don’t have any gap with him. In fact, Jagan asked me to contest the elections from Parchur, but I declined, as Chirala is my native constituency. Hence, I came out,” he said.

Krishna Mohan said his family members and the constituency people have suggested that I should go back to the Congress party which gave him the political life, though he wanted to contest as an independent in Chirala. Readmore!

He said he thought of contesting on auto-rickshaw symbol, but the Election Commission of India cancelled the symbol.

“So, I have decided to join the Congress party and contest on hand symbol,” he said.

Krishna Mohan attributed his decision to quit the YSRCP and join the Congress to local MLA Karanam Balaram and his son Karanam Venkatesh, who had joined the YSRCP and plundered Chirala.

“They indulged in sand mafia and granite mafia in Chirala and created a havoc in the constituency with the support of the police. The people are eagerly waiting for an opportunity to defeat Karanam family,” he said.
