At last, YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to revamp his council of ministers on April 2, coinciding with the Ugadi festival.

Jagan is likely to disclose his plan of action at the YSRC legislature party meeting to be held later in the evening.

He is learnt to have decided that there would be new cabinet along with new districts with effect from Ugadi.

According to the sources in the YSRC, the chief minister is likely to induct 25 ministers in the new cabinet, including five ministers of the present cabinet.

The names of the five ministers who would be retaining their posts, however, have been kept secret by the chief minister.

It is learnt Jagan will follow the same formula he has adopted in the first cabinet – more than 50 per cent of the seats would be reserved for SCs, STs, BCs and minorities. Once again, there would be five deputy chief ministers belonging to five different caste groups.

The home minister would also be a woman. The cabinet is constituted in such a way that almost all the newly formed districts would be given representation in the cabinet. A few of the MLCs would also find a place in the cabinet, sources said.

There is already a long list of the aspirants for the cabinet berths. But the ultimate authority would be Jagan.
