Alas, no bail to Naidu in any case!

In yet another major setback to Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the state high court on Monday dismissed his petitions seeking anticipatory bails in three different cases.

A single-judge bench of the high court dismissed Naidu’s petitions for anticipatory bail in the Angallu and Inner Ring Road alignment change case, as well as in the AP Fibernet case.

Arguments on these petitions had been completed last week and judgement was reserved for Monday.

On the other hand, the Supreme Court will hold a hearing on the special leave petition filed by Chandrababu in the skill development case. Readmore!

The Vijayawada ACB court will also pronounce its judgment on bail and custody petitions related to the skill development corporation case.

Going by the strength of the case, it is unlikely that Naidu would get relief in either of these two courts. Even if the ACB court grants him bail in the skill development case, the Crime Investigation Department might arrest him again in one of three other cases for which the high court denied him anticipatory bail.

The ACB court has already extended the judicial remand of Naidu till October 19. It will announce its decision on handing him over to the CID for police custody later on Monday.

Naidu has been lodged in the Rajahmundry Central Jail for the past one month. Son Nara Lokesh returned to Rajahmundry two days after spending several days in Delhi to meet central leaders and consult lawyers there.
