Telugu Desam Party leader from Allagadda in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh and former Andhra Pradesh tourism minister Bhuma Akhila Priya has confessed her crime of masterminding the kidnap of three persons in connection with Hafeezpet land dispute case.
At least, this is what the Hyderabad police say, after interrogating her for three days during their custody. According to the police, Akhila Priya had made a confession before the police, establishing the whole sequence of offence and ascertaining her role.
“We have arrested other accused persons based on her confession and articles used in commission of offence were seized from them,” the police said.
Akhila Priya, along with her husband Bhargav Ram, her brother Jagath Vikhyath Reddy and her follower Guntur Srinu, hatched the kidnap plan. They had a meeting at Akhila Priya’s residence at Lodha apartments, Kukatpally Housing Board Colony and also at MGH School, Yousufguda and finalised the execution of the plan.
Bhargav Ram through one N Mallikarjun Reddy, who arranged fake property documents, adhesive tapes and ropes, fake number plates of vehicles, got 10 stamp papers – 5 each in the name of Bhargav Ram and Vikyath Reddy.
With the help of Guntur Srinu, who with the help of an event manager Madala Siddhartha, arranged some persons to execute the kidnap plan. After the kidnap on January 5 night, they took the victims to the guest of Bhargav Ram situated at Moinabad.
“They obtained their signatures on plain stamp papers and also on the written papers by force while putting them under the threat of instant injury and death by assaulting them with sticks,” the police said.
