Adivi Sesh has finally acknowledged that certain creative missteps impacted the reception of his latest film, Dacoit, which opened to mixed reviews.
Critics were particularly harsh about the film’s convenient screenplay and implausible situations.
Responding to the feedback, Sesh admitted that the COVID-era hospital sequences could have been executed with stronger logic. He also conceded that the heist portions were written in a somewhat simplistic manner.
At the same time, he suggested that audience expectations may have played a role in the criticism, hinting that viewers anticipated a more “intelligent” narrative from him given his past work.
Currently running in theatres, “Dacoit” has struggled to generate strong box office momentum.
The film’s overall collections have reportedly fallen short of expectations, leaving producers, distributors, and trade circles underwhelmed.
