Adityanath to join Jagan's team of advisors?

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who has a large batch of more than 30 advisors in his team, is most likely to induct one more advisor soon, if the reports coming from the power corridors of the state are to be believed.

According to these reports, outgoing chief secretary Adityanath Das is likely to be appointed as advisor to the government on irrigation soon after his retirement on September 30.

Adityanath Das has already been on a three-month extension as chief secretary and the chief minister has decided against seeking yet another extension.

On Friday, the government issued orders appointing senior IAS officer Sameer Sharma as the new chief secretary from October 1. Readmore!

However, Jagan is learnt to have decided to make use of the services of the outgoing chief secretary even after his retirement.

Adityanath Das has worked in the irrigation department both in the combined Andhra Pradesh and during the present regime of Jagan before he was elevated to the post of chief secretary.

Sources said Adityanath Das might get the appointment as Principal Advisor to the government on irrigation affairs.

The post assumes significance as the Centre has taken over the operation and maintenance of major projects on Krishna and Godavari rivers and the state has to deal with the Centre regularly.

“He is most likely to get the appointment as advisor on the same day of his relinquishment of office of the chief secretary,” sources added.
