Adimoolam: Rape case dropped, what about video tapes?

As expected, suspended Telugu Desam Party MLA from Satyavedu assembly constituency Koneti Adimoolam managed to wriggle out of the rape case filed against him by a woman TDP leader of his constituency three weeks ago.

The Andhra Pradesh high court on Wednesday struck down the case filed against the MLA by the Tirupati police on technical grounds.

The court also took cognizance of the affidavit filed by the victim, who said she had filed a false complaint against him.

The counsel for Adimoolam argued that the sections under which case was filed against him were not applicable to him and the case should have been filed in a woman police station. Readmore!

Moreover, the incident allegedly happened in July and August but was case was registered on September 5, he said.

The lawyer further argued that the case was filed at the behest of a third person.

Meanwhile, the victim also filed an affidavit saying she had made false allegations against the MLA. Based on these depositions, the high court struck down the case against him.

So far so good. But what about the videos that were released to the media by the woman who accused the MLA of raping her?

These videos had gone viral on social media and they clearly showed Adimoolam was sexually assaulting her and moreover, she was also cooperating with him.

Maybe, the woman might have told that it was a consensual sex. Hence, the court did not take it seriously and exonerated Adimoolam!
