A Nara Rohith's movie is always looked forward by movie lovers as he has been trying to come up with some interesting movies.

The trailer of this movie looked quite promising. Although it was stuck for many months at the editing table, the film has generated some interest.

Let's find out the merits and demerits Readmore!

Story:
A movie director Siddharth's (Nara Rohith) wife is killed and he gets arrested on the charges of murder. However, he says he's innocent and public prosecutor Veerendra (Jagapathi Babu) believes his version when his wife's mother narrates their love story. Veerendra proves that Siddharth didn't murder his wife.

But was Veerendra really right in his conviction? Who really killed Siddharth's wife and why?

Artistes’ Performances:
Nara Rohit is totally wasted. He has looked out of place and clueless. The only saving grace of the movie is Jagapathi Babu who has tried his best despite silly characterisation, all round nonsense. Subbaraju is just okay.

Newcomer Darshana lacks glamour appeal but her acting skills are decent. The most irritating actor in the film is Brahmanandam. Like the movie, his comedy is stale and outdated.

Technical Excellence:
The film has low production values. Even the technical aspects are so substandard. Music is horrible except one romantic song "Nee Valle Nee Valle".

Sai Kartheek also appears in a rap song that further tests the patience. The dialogue writing is at pedestrian level.

Highlights:
None

Drawback:
Everything

Analysis
Irrespective of hits or flops, Nara Rohith has earned a name for himself for attempting different concepts or scripts. However, he is heading wrong direction, of late.

With "Balakrishnudu", he tried his hand at mass movies. His latest film "Aatagallu" is even worse. Perhaps, it ranks lowest in his career.

"Aatagallu" is a murder mystery inspired by some Korean or Chinese movie. No public prosecutor in India would take such steps that are shown here. We can excuse this basic flaw if the narration is any good.

In the recent times many badly made movies have come out but this one takes the cake. It is perfect example for shoddy filmmaking. Director Parachuri Murali's narration is so dated.

Check this scene: In the beginning of the movie, a doctor brings a girl who is in coma to the bodies of her dead parents to pay last respects. How does she see them? The doctor puts a pink tablet in her mouth and lo she wakes up. Minutes later she swallows yellow tablet to go into coma again.

Sounds so inane right? This is one of many such idiotic scenes in the movie. You can imagine how silly proceedings would turn later.

After establishing basic murder setup, the film goes to narrate the story of Nara Rohit and Darshana. Nara Rohit is presented as a top director in Tollywood. Darshana is creative head of Disney Studio. Brahmanandam as Mr Go Go, head, Asia Pacific region of Disney comes to India to make Mahabharat in Hollywood in the direction of Nara Rohit, the Tollywod top director. Brahmanandam as Hollywood studio executive! The very thought brings horrors, right? His comedy would completely make us go insane.

Paruchuri Murali's narration is stuck in 70's or 80's. Even B-grade TV serial makers come up with better narration or direction.

On the whole, "Aatagallu" is one of substandard and badly made Telugu movies this year. It is better Nara Rohit stay away from this kind of inane stuff.

Bottom-line: Tests the Patience
