40 Years In Politics, Why Is Naidu Abetting Violence?

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is the senior most politician in Andhra Pradesh, at least among those who are active now.

He had been the longest-serving chief minister of the undivided Andhra Pradesh and had been the longest-serving Leader of Opposition as well.

He played a key role in national politics during the last three decades and is known for teaching both good and bad to the officers.

He claims himself as a visionary and a man for the development of the state and creation of wealth for the people. Readmore!

But things seem to have changed after his defeat in the 2019 elections at the hands of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

With age not on his side, Chandrababu Naidu is seen making provocative statements and hard-hitting criticism, besides hurling abuses at the YSR Congress leaders, whether he is addressing a public meeting or a press conference.

Yesterday, while addressing a street corner meeting at Mulakalacheruvu in Annamayya district, he made abusive comments against Tambalapalli MLA Peddireddy Dwarakanadh Reddy of YSR Congress.

Angered by these comments and abuses, the YSR Congress activists started protesting by holding black flags, close to the by-pass road to Punganuru.

Naidu was supposed to go on the by-pass road, but upon seeing the YSR Congress activists holding black flags, the TDP leaders tried to divert Naidu’s convoy to Punganuru town, igniting the clash.

The activists of the two parties pelted stones at each other, causing injuries to both sides, including the police.

What is shocking is that Naidu, who arrived at the scene a little later, again made abusive comments and even threw an open challenge to the local MLA.

He had even made provocative statements to encourage his own party men to repeat the same actions with much ferocity.

Naidu, who is desperately working to come back to power, is going all out even to cause tension and violence in the state.

At this age, one wonders why Naidu is stooping down to such a low level, making his own party activists as scapegoats.
