Superstar Rajinikanth and Shankar's much-anticipated '2.0' received fairly positive reviews and good word-of-mouth, but the film's collections in USA have come as a shock.

The film's day one collections came as a big jolt. The sci-fi thriller released in large number of screens but has failed to cross $1 million mark on Day 1.

From premiere plus day one, it has raked in mere $900k, which is embarrassingly low amount for a Rajinikanth movie.

At a time, when big Telugu movies are grossing more than one million dollars from premiere shows alone, this high-budgeted multi-lingual biggie has failed to collect $1 million from premiere plus day one.

What is even more shocking is that Rajinikanth had proved his popularity in USA three years ago with "Kabali" that had grossed whopping $2.7 million from Day 1.

What is the reason for this shockingly low amount? Trade pundits say they have messed up with the release in USA.

Lyca Production had released it on own for commission basis but had not planned the theaters properly.

In places where should be screened in 3D, they had allotted 2D prints or vice versa. They have totally messed it up.
