Babu was my colleague, not boss: Revanth

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president and chief minister A Revanth Reddy fumed at his critics who call him a stooge and agent of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu.

In an interview to ABN-Andhra Jyothy channel managing director Vemuri Radhakrishna, the Telangana chief minister reacted strongly when asked whether he would help his “guru” in Andhra Pradesh elections, as Naidu had indirectly helped the Congress by not contesting the Telangana assembly elections.

“Who is guru? And to whom he is a guru? If anybody calls me as a disciple of Naidu, I shall beat him with chappals,” Revanth said.

He clarified that he had won the MLC seat as an independent and later joined the TDP.

“Chandrababu Naidu was the party president and I would respect him as the head of the party. But I was not his subordinate, but was only a colleague in the party,” he said.

On whether he would extend support to Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh, Revanth Reddy pointed out that he had campaigned for Congress president in AP Y S Sharmila and made an appeal to the people to make her as the chief minister.

“When I have my own party leaders in AP, why should I work for other parties? I have nothing to do with Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh. As I said I would only respect him as my erstwhile colleague,” Revanth asserted.
