Actor Jr NTR might be keeping himself away from politics, despite hailing from the family of TDP leaders, but he seems to have extended his indirect support to YSRCP at least in Gudivada, where his good old friend Kodali Nani is contesting.
It was evident from the way the fans of Jr NTR openly declared their support to Kodali Nani on Friday.
His fans’ associations held an Atmeeya Samavesham (meeting of supporters) at Vemavaram village of Gudlavalleru mandal which was attended by Kodali, where he sought their cooperation in the elections.
Needless to say, the fans’ associations would not have taken the initiative without taking the blessings of NTR, who was completely ignored and sidelined in the TDP for the last 15 years.
Speaking at the meeting, Kodali Nani said the Telugu Desam Party would be taken over by Jr NTR only if it is liberated from the hands of former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
He alleged that Naidu was deliberately humiliating Jr NTR by provoking his social media team to abuse the actor.
“Naidu and his team should be defeated in the coming elections. Only then, the party leaders, who backstabbed senior NTR, would come down on their knees and ask Jr NTR to rescue the party,” he said.
Kodali reiterated that Sr NTR had given him a life in politics and he had no qualms in admitting the same.
“I am a great devotee of NTR and his son Nandamuri Harikrishna was my guru. So, I have a huge respect for Jr NTR,” he said.
He alleged that the TDP workers made physical attacks on Jr NTR fans who went to Naidu’s meetings with his posters.
“But neither Naidu nor Lokesh prevented such attacks,” he said, adding that Jr NTR fans should support the TDP only if the party reins are given to Jr NTR.
