Cops identify youth who pelted stone at Jagan

Finally, the Vijayawada police on Tuesday managed to identify Satish Kumar, a young man from Vaddera Colony near Ajit Singh Nagar, who pelted stone at YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday night.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the police formed after the attack picked up five youths – Aakash, Durga Rao, Chinna, Santosh and Satish – and questioned them for two days.

Finally, Satish admitted to have pelted the stone at the chief minister. It was a small piece of tile laid on the footpath, which he kept in his pocket before hurling at the chief minister.

“It was a lightening attack by Satish at Jagan,” the police said.

The police are questioning the motive and reasons behind the stone attack on the chief minister. They are also enquiring about the bank account details of Satish Kumar and also verifying his phone call data.

The police are also looking into whether he has any affiliation to any political party and whether he had any previous cases pending against him.

They are also trying to find out his employment details and also whether he was a beneficiary of any of the YSRCP schemes.

Sources said the police are interrogating Satish Kumar on whether it was his own decision to pelt the stone or whether there were any other people behind him.

“Once all the details are gathered, he would be produced before the media,” sources said.
