Rashmika Mandanna's Lady Oriented Film Shelved?

In Bollywood, the lady-oriented films like 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' or "Manikarnika" do work well at the box office. It's the content that drives the films in general, so there is no divide for lady-oriented genre in Bollywood.

But in the South, especially in Tamil Nadu, lady-oriented films are ending up as disasters. The Tamil audience have turned down the biopic of their 'Amma' Jayalalitha itself.

When 'Thalaivi' was released with Kangana Ranaut in the main lead, there were many expectations before the release. But neither the openings nor the collections in continuity were encouraging.

There are many such instances, and so the latest Tamil film 'Rainbow' with Rashmika Mandanna in the lead was kept on hold despite shooting some parts as it is a lady centric film. It was started in April last year and was shelved after shooting for 20 days.

But the same "Pushpa" and "Animal" actress, who had national fame, is working in "The Girlfriend" in Telugu, which is again a female-centric film. But there is no stoppage for this film as it is not yet proven that such films don't do well in Tollywood.

It was "Mahanati" a few years ago that broke the roof of collections, and then the recent film "Baby," which can be called female-centric, set new records with collections. Both were female-centric.

So there is no hindrance for this film, and the Kollywood climate is not prevailing in Tollywood, as per a report.

Rashmika is reveling in the mammoth success of ‘Animal’ and is also waiting for the release of her much-hyped film ‘Pushpa - The Rule,’ and is also in talks to pair up with Prabhas in a big-budget film to be made by director Sandeep Vanga.

She is also doing a big film with Tamil star Dhanush, which is being directed by ace Telugu director Sekhar Kammula.
