Sai Reddy showers praises on Chiru: What's up?

The ruling YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has an utter contempt for power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, who has been attacking the government at every possible occasion.

Jagan, too, doesn’t forget to target the power star, describing him as a “dattaputrudu” (adopted son) of Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

At every public meeting, the chief minister doesn’t forget to mention this nexus between Naidu and Pawan.

The YSRC leaders have been extensively propagating that the TDP and Jana Sena would dump the BJP and fight the next assembly elections together.

They also make sharp comments against Pawan Kalyan’s elder brother Naga Babu, who is known for making pungent comments against YSRC on social media.

But, the YSRC leadership has been surprisingly giving a lot of importance to megastar Chiranjeevi, the eldest of the three brothers, and pampering him.

Chiranjeevi had flown to Tadepalli a few times in special flight, had lunch with Jagan and showered praises on him.

He also led a delegation of Tollywood to meet Jagan to discuss the issues of the industry, including increase in ticket prices and permission for special screenings etc. He played a major role in getting the problems of the industry resolved.

The YSRC leaders, like R K Roja, too, have been regularly praising Chiranjeevi, while attacking Pawan Kalyan and Naga Babu. At one stage, there was a talk that the YSRC might nominate the megastar to Rajya Sabha.

Apparently, the YSRC leadership is of the view that if it can create an impression that Chiranjeevi is on its side, it will attract the mega fans towards the party and that will have a psychological impact on Pawan Kalyan.

On Monday, YSRC general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy posted a tweet, lauding the decision of the megastar to have the pre-release event of his forthcoming film “Godfather” in Andhra Pradesh.

“It is very much delightful to note that megastar Chiranjeevi’s message-oriented film “Godfather” pre-release event in Andhra Pradesh. My hearty congratulation to him. For the past four decades, he has been entertaining the Telugu film industry. He still has the same energy, same enthusiasm. His life is an inspiration to many people. #chiranjeevi,” Sai Reddy tweeted.

Needless to say, it is more than just a compliment, but an attempt to convey the message that the YSRC has the support of Chiranjeevi!
