Sai Reddy's kin likely to face arrest in liquor scam

YSR Congress party general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy’s close relative P Sarathchandra Reddy is likely to face the arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scandal.

Sarath Chandra is the brother of P Rohit Reddy, who happens to be the son-in-law of Sai Reddy. His father P V Ramprasad Reddy is the original promoter of the Aurobindo Pharma, in which Sarathchandra and Rohit are he directors.

The ED authorities, who have been thoroughly investigating the Delhi liquor policy scandal involving Aad Admi Party leader and deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, have found the role of Sarathchandra Reddy in the scam.

The ED has apparently detected that Aurobindo Pharma had diverted huge money as investments into the liquor tenders and distilleries in several parts of the country.

And Sarachandra Reddy played a key role in the whole transactions and the ED obtained sufficient documentary and electronic evidence in this regard.

“In all probability, the ED might take Sarathchandra Reddy into custody within a week or 10 days, once we get clearance from the Centre,” the ED sources said.

The BJP leaders had alleged in the past that Aurobindo Pharma was deeply involved in the Delhi liquor scam by operating benami companies and producing and selling of liquor as wholesale and retail.

Sharat Chandra Reddy also runs a company Trident Life Sciences which allegedly paid Earnest Money Deposit to five benami companies for liquor tenders in Delhi.
