After the failure of ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’ and ‘Chal Mohan Ranga’, Nithin took a long gap to reconsider the choices.
After sitting idle for more than six months at home, the young star who has an image of a lover boy has signed two films for the same banner – Sithara Entertainments.
How did Suryadevera Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments convince Nithin with two scripts?
“I had tried to do different kinds of movies - a screenplay-based story (Lie), a love story (Chal Mohan Ranga) and a family drama (Srinivasa Kalyanam) but they didn’t click. That was then Naga Vamsi and director Venky Kudumula approached me with this story of ‘Bheeshma’ which I felt has right ‘meter’ that I have been looking for. Since Naga Vamsi is of my age group and similar tastes we have struck a bond,” Nithin reveals.
Naga Vamsi’s Babai is S Radhakrishna, a leading producer of blockbusters such as “Ala Vaikunthapurramloo”.
“It was my Babai who liked the script of Venky Kudumula and asked me to produce it on Sithara banner and we approached Nithin,” Naga Vamsi continued and also cleared that he didn’t give a thought about Nithin’s previous duds.
“Today a film takes openings based on the trailer and teaser, not on the hero’s previous hits or flops,” he cleared.
Echoing the same, Nithin said, “at least a song should become popular before the release. If teaser and trailer clicks, then openings automatically come. Thankfully, two songs of Bheeshma have already become hit.”
Interestingly, both Nithin and the producer had revealed the main story of the film.
“This is not just a rom-com. So far, we promoted it as another romantic comedy but the film stresses more about organic farming and a carefree youngster living up to the expectations,” they said.
The trailer will reveal the total story, they declared.
“Bheeshma” is releasing this Feb 21st and it stars Rashmika as the heroine. Venky Kudumula of “Chalo” fame has directed it.
