Why are YSRC leaders over-reacting?

The alliance between Jana Sena Party led by actor Pawan Kalyan and Bharatiya Janata Party has no political significance in Andhra Pradesh in the current scenario, as the YSR Congress party led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is firmly rooted in power with a huge mandate of 151 MLAs.

The claim of Pawan Kalyan that the alliance would come to power in the state and he would become the next chief minister is too farfetched and has absolutely no meaning as there are no immediate elections in the state.

So, the YSRC should just ignore this insignificant development in the state politics. But one is surprised to see several YSRC leaders issuing statements one after the other to the media in reaction to the alliance between Pawan and BJP.

First it was YSRC spokesman and MLA Ambati Rambabu to react on the alliance, stating that Pawan was known for his political instability and that the alliance had little influence on the voters in the recent elections.

He sought to know why Pawan had forgotten the demand for special category status and partnered with the BJP.

He pointed out that previously Pawan had raised voice against Prime Minister Narendra Modi describing the latter’s special package as two spoiled laddus.

“Like Praja Rajyam Party, Jana Sena Party, too, would become extinct one day,” he said.

Next, another senior leader C Ramachandraiah spoke on the Jana Sena-BJP alliance, stating that Pawan had no values in politics and people won’t take him seriously.

He said the BJP, which was already losing power in one state after the other, would further sink if it allied with parties like Jana Sena.

Similarly, other YSRC leaders like Gudivada Amarnath, Malladi Vishnu, Sankar Narayana also addressed the media and spoke against Jana Sena-BJP alliance.

One wonders why the YSRC leaders chose to make statements in the media against the new alliance, instead of ignoring it which had no relevance in the present circumstances.

It looks like there is no control of Jagan Mohan Reddy over his party leaders who are speaking whatever that comes to their mind without understanding the dynamics of the subject.

It might create an impression among the people that the YSRC leaders were getting panicky over the alliance.

It might also lead to the talk that by quickly joining the BJP fold, Pawan might spoil the good relations between Jagan and the Centre.

It would be better at least now, Jagan reins in his party leaders and ask them not to over-react on the Pawan-BJP alliance issue, as one does not know what is going to happen in the next four years.

Known for his inconsistency and non-serious politics, Pawan himself will fade out very soon!
